Merry Christmas eh!
(We have a fish theme this year, so if you see something fishy, that's OK. However if you smell like something fishy then you'd better ask Santa for new stockings this year!)

Fishing Trails
The annual MRI conference took us to Waikiki Hawaii in April, and while snorkling in Hanauma Bay we spotted many interesting and colorful fishies, including many of the fish swimming here, and the Hawaiian state fish, the humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua’a (not shown). I also had a conference week in Montreal (1st time there)
We traveled to Santa Clara in February to celebrate Leslie's parent's 30th wedding anniversary. We got to go there again for Thanksgiving, eating at a mutlitude of different places, including Half-Moon Bay (the waves at the famous Mavericks surfing spot were a mere 20ft, about 40 feet smaller than the month before, so we didn't bother shredding them).

  Fishing Tails
This was a good year for fishing in our back yard.
Nick and 'Than found trolling out the back of our paddle boat very good for getting small-mouth bass. Leslie's parents came out in August for their annual 3 week tour. Her dad preferred the canoe for catching 17-18" bass, fat carp and seagulls. We also managed to make it to our first Big Man's golf tournament. Our summer project was to give the house a new coat, much to the amusement of our new cat, Zoe. We had to limit ourselves to just 3 big parties this summer, including a surprise birthday party for my Aunt Mildred and her wacky relatives (hey, that's us!)

School/work
In June I landed a 4-year grant from the American Cancer Society -- I keep my 4-feet-long $460,000 check in my office. In November, Leslie submitted her teachers masters degree thesis (she should 'walk' in May), and has been substitute teaching all semester, when not weeding and studying.

  PEACE
on earth, good will to all people!
