Research Overview
Dr. Brasacchio was the study chairman of a study of Radiation-Induced Cytokine Cascades and their Correlation with Central Nervous System Injury. He was a co-investigator in studies of Piper guided prostate brachytherapy; of the effect of androgen ablation on bone resorption; and comparing EchoSeed and OncoSeed using ultrasound. He also participated in experimental research analyzing neuro-endocrine/gonadal dysfunction in female patients irradiated for CNS malignancies who developed amenorrhea.
